Keeping up appearances...

Yikes! The days are just flying by, aren't they?
Work had been kicking my buttocks three ways from Sunday last month and now I am finally catching up on things online.
I managed to officiate Ra-chan and Kori's wedding on Gaia. I'm so proud of me. I wish I had had more time to research the proper way a wedding was supposed to go 'cuz I kinda forgot the part where the bride gets given away. Oh well, I have only been to one wedding and I wasn't really paying much attention. I was more interested in what the photographer was doing and what the military guy was saying than anything else.
Speaking of work, Care-hair is leaving us for parts unknown... well, Oklahoma. Why? I cannot say. What's in Oklahoma? I wonder who will be the new Head Beauty Advisor. None of the girls currently employed with us are qualified. Most of them are still rookie Walgreens employees. Still, there are more BAs than Photo Specialists at the moment. I was happy when I was able to take my vacation since we hired a new girl to work in the Lab, but jeez if I wasn't worried about what was going on in my Lab the whole time I was gone. I think I went in every third day just to see how things were. Thankfully, there didn't seem too be any downtime. Oh! And I got a raise! My efforts aren't being overlooked. It's nice to see that the numbers in the Lab are better than last year's but that is mostly due to the fact that we got a new machine and we can actually write CDs. We couldn't do that before and had to send out a lot of business to KPT. Now, we just do a bunch of stuff in house and while it's still only a one hour machine, it's very versatile... if you know what you're doing with the computer, that is. I'm glad the new girl is fairly familiar with compys... I just wish she wasn't so cocky about things. She acts likes she knows what I'm talking about, but she obviously doesn't. But, but she tries to figure it out and that's fine. I just hope she doesn't screw up people's negatives or pictures... having a customer yelling at her might bring her down a peg or two, but it's bad for business and I have a Lab's reputation to uphold. The other photo girl isn't as good with compys and doesn't want to say Boo without asking first. She's been the cause of more than a few hours of downtime and has gotten fearful of breaking something when doing something new. It's kinda ridiculous how I have such polar opposites working under me.
So, there were a lot of birthdays. Roach, Ra-chan, Noke, Mi-chan, P-chan, Neko, Mother, Rogee... and then there was Turkey Day. And then my birthday is coming up, then Christmas. :: Sigh :: I hate shopping. Seriously... unless it's for something specific, I cannot stand shopping for other people. I am such a impulsive buyer, I mean, I have eight credit cards, for gooshness sakes. That is just wrong.
Okay, so I have other news, but I think I'll save it for my next entry.
